In the last period we have spent a lot of time and effort in developing our own integrated IT platform. To prevent implementation issues and dependency on third parties, we have built the IT platform by ourselves with the help of independent IT professionals. We used an emerging approach regarding the development process of our IT platform, which implies that it took some time to build the IT platform, but in the end the IT platform will be perfectly adjusted & tailored to MGC and his clients. In the spring of 2015, the beta-testing will completed and we will put the system into use.
The purposes of the IT platform are; improve internal processes and optimize information flows between the client, MGC and his subcontractors. The system will make use of an intranet that contains all data and information of current, aged and future projects, and will allow employees to store and exchange files in an organized way. Upper management always has access to various overviews to monitor the working activities of employees and to keep track on the progress of projects. Due the implementation of our own IT platform we can work more efficient, and eventually improve the quality of our production output.
The benefits of the new IT platform will be noticeable for the clients of MCG as well. When a partnership between a client and MGC is confirmed, MCG will provide login details to the client. From this moment on, the client can log in on our integrated IT platform and will always have access to relevant information like status reports, test reports and accounts without asking for it. In this way we can give our client a better overview about the progress of their project, while eliminating redundant interaction and tackling time difference issues.
The IT platform also gives MGC the ability to be more responsive and clearer towards its subcontractors. Thanks to the 24/7 up-to-date order balances and automatic raw material purchases slack will be reduced significantly. Reports from factory audits will be uploaded and automatically translated as soon as an audit has finished. Communication between the factory, Chinese employees and management will runs smoother as well.
